Hands down the best pizza I ate (and I ate a lot of it) on my 2 weeks in Sicily. We had trouble choosing, the descriptions all looked amazing. I landed on Pizza Atena and wasn’t disappointed. Crust was both fluffy and satisfyingly chewy, the toppings divine. The confit tomatoes to die for, so sweet and full of flavor. I wish I could have eaten here twice. Also lots of alternative pizza options here, fried pizza etc, many I didn’t really understand what they were, and the staff didn’t speak the best English so I decided not to ask too many questions. As for the staff, they were either short or just aloof. The hostess is not the friendliest and once we did finally sit down we were not approached for close to 20 minutes until finally one of the helpers (not a server?) came over and asked would we like a bottle of water but wasn’t able to take our order for anything else. So 5 stars for the food, but maybe work on customer experience.
